Hello.

I have a 2003 Jetta with 82k miles - just recently my check engine light came on and before I could get it checked out (that same day) it went out and hasn't come back on since. But unfortunately, today my car began idling so low that it dies. It runs just fine unless I am stopped, that's when it idles low, then dies. So I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and can they please give me some advise and also if I try to go get the codes pulled from when my check engine light was on last week will the code still be there?

The first thing I would check for is a vacuum leak. Just turn the car on and get under the hood and listen for a hissing noise. I think thats more than likely what it is.

Whilechecking for the hissing, it also sounds like it's misfiring. ???
