Default Putt Putt then dies

Hi all and hope someone can help me out here, So I picked up a really well keep 1997 Cabrio for my daughter and the previous owner said they never had any problems with it. Famous last words I guess. The car has 123K on it and really run well.. for two days that is. So here my problem ... When you first start the car in the morning you have to crank the heck out of it before is fires up then it dies out. Then you have to do the same thing again. It just loose power and dies. Please ask me some question because I know I didn't give you much to go on. It seems to me to be a fuel delivery problem but I don't know where to start. Please... your help is needed.

Might be the throttle control valve which you can try and clean with some throttle body cleaner. You can try cleaning the throttle body itself as well. A good tune up with fuel filter change could fix it as well. It could be many things so I would try these cheap things first.

You might also want to check out the ECU sometimes it will give wrong messages (or none at all) to the fuel pump
