worn brake pad indicator
Hi I am new here but, I have a problem that hopefully someone can answer. I replaced the pads on a 2001 jetta and the worn brake indicator light will not go off. I tried disconnecting the battery but that didn't work either. Any sugestions before I go to the stealership?

RE: worn brake pad indicator
I'm not extremely familiar with the VW brakes, but on BMW's (which I am familiar with), if the brake wear sensor is triggered, you need to replace the sensor. It's not an expensive part and it clips into the caliper next to the pads. Check to see if that's what you have.

Hello my vee dub freinds, i ahve found that replacing them with pads that arent oem , like pads from oreillys or auto zone the sensor wont read the aftermarket ones, common problem use only oem pads and it will clear the problem up.
