Exclamation Gas Door Help!

I recently picked up a 2001 jetta 1.8T and it has a few electrical problems on the drivers side door, but what I didn't notice is the button to pop open the fuel door is located on the drivers side door! so I cant get any gas!! is there any way to bypass or override this so I can manually open the door?

I would try going in through the trunk then pushing it open. I dont know if you will be able to access it from there or not, but I would think so. You will have to move the carpet from the wall, obvisously and look around for it. If you can access it then I would use a flat head screwdriver to push open the little latch thing that holds it closed.

And then if you can get it open that way, do something so that it doesnt lock again, like tape the latch thing so that it cant catch or something.
