Question 4 cylinder vs. vr6

ok so i owned a 98 jetta w/ 5 speed, 2.0liter and then i got into an accident with it and dont own it anymore but i wish to get another one cause i miss that car. but i was wondering, which engine would be better in terms or speed and quickness and upgradability, the 4 cylinder turbo or the vr6? Thanks for the help

Sorry, I disagree.
The VR6 is a great engine and it really moves the car when you gas it.
But there is HUGE advantage to forced induction. Yeah there's always the turbo lag, but once it lights, the engine makes just as much power and weights a lot less.
Plus the turbo muffles all the noise and it's a much quieter car because of that.
.
Just another point of view.
