2012 Jetta check engine light on then off 5seconds
Hey confused what the issue could be
2012 Jetta 2.0 sohc
Automatic
130,000km not miles
I was driving and noticed my transmission seemed to go sluggish (30km/hr max) the check engine light came on then went away a few seconds later and the transmission went back to normal and has not done it since. Tranny fluid has not been changed and I haven't done timing belt but I'm not sure if this mode has belt or chain

Is this 2012 Jetta 2.0 petrol or diesel? I would guess at being a timing belt.
You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.
