how much ATF?
I have a 2010 Beetle 2.5L 5cyl. Auto w/ 6-speed tiptronic trans. (09G)
At Blauparts.com they incl. 6 qts. with the kit, but I have been told it does not take that many. I have heard 3 and 4 but not 6?
It tells how much oil in the manual but not atf.
I mean by now, since they incl 6 w/kit, i guess it is 6, but that sure isn't what i have heard other places.
Does anyone know where i can find this info on-line at?
Thanks

You will need to measure the oil temperature with VAG-COM\VCDS to 35°C-45°C.
But as I tell every user. https://volkswagenforum.com/forum/ne...gnature-34185/

The spec I have is 3.0 ltr of G 052 025 for 09G.

SORRY, EDITED VERSION----- I DECIDED TO JUST USE MY IR THERMOMETER! ------- but did want to show you this and ask your opinion of it?
I found it on a youtube atf change video.
"Though you only drained 4 qts. of the old transmission oil, the other half is held in the torque converter so you only swapped just over half the used oil. Though that is better than nothing you didn't really service or flush out your system. Better way is to unplug the transmission cooler inlet line after you drain the pan, pour in the amt of new oil you drained, run the car and have the remaining oil pumped out while you pour in new oil till it runs clean (measuring this and adding the appropriate amt)."
No one has mentioned all of this. Is this what you would do, or would you just change whats in the pan?
Do you know if the dearlership would do it this way?
Oh, and sorry i am new at this, but i do not understand the spec thing on my signature thing? Do you mean for me to type my car specs, and my name on every post or what?
Thanks again for all your help!
Chris

As you can see, still haven't changed this darn atf! lol
I will check again since it has been months now since i checked, but pretty sure i don't have the DSG model, but instead the 09G.
The # you listed is for the DSG.
@ Blauparts.com
OE Part Number G 055 025 A2 (2002-14 Beetle) - Part Number: J1D2108-B
Meets Vw fluid specifications for 09G, 09M series transverse mounted 6 speed tiptronic transmissions and 09D inline mounted 6 speed tiptonic transmissions.
Am i understanding this right?
While i have you, did want to ask you about the LUCAS Multi-ATF Synthetic?
I use Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer and Lucas Fuel Treatment in every care i have ever owned, so i know they are great products!
I called Lucas about this, and they PROMISED it would meet the standars and that it would extend the life of any transmission.
BUT, i still haven't seen the bottle to see if the 09G is listed on it somewhere, so just figured i would get your input?
Thanks again !

WOW! Just to post in case someone in the Pensacola area reads this and is thinking about trying to change their own ATF.
I just had mine done at a place called SAVERS TRANSMISSIONS in Pensacola, FL
They only charged me $147.00 out the door! He said everything in there looked great! Said i should not have a problem with that transmission, which was more than great to hear because now with 102,000 miles, my daughter loves her BUG! And this little 2.5L will SCAT!
So there you have it! If your in my area take it to Savers, because it will cost just as much to do the job yourself, and it sounded like a royal butt of a job to me w/o having a lift at the house!
