How to change the ATF on a Polo '99 1.4 8V 6N1 type 001 transmission?
All the guides I can find on the net show you only how to drain the fluid from the check level hole but not how to drop the pan/strainer or what parts you need to change.
If someone has done this, I'd really appreciate any tips/pointers.
Also, is it worth getting some sort of a vag com or is an IR thermometer good enough for checking the fluid temp? Is this vag com ok VAG GROUP USB OBD2 II KKL ECU DIAGNOSTIC CABLE LEAD Compatible VCDS-LITE or 409 | eBay

Obviously a 6N1 is a Polo but there are many year and engines.

It is a 1999 Polo 1.4 with a type "001" transaxle. I just need to know specific details about the 001 ATF change like what gaskets and filter I need and tips about dropping the pan. I want to be well prepped as I want to close it up before too much dust gets in.

Thats still doesn't tell us that much the engine code would be better. Most 1.4's are all manual gearboxes.

As for what parts you need your better of getting a copy of ETKA.
