Default I Need Help

Probably Stupid ? to all yhuu experienced owners but i kno nothing about engines[&o], jus brought a 1993 golf mk3 1.8cl completely stock,
i took my spark leads out overnight and when i put them back in the next morning the car made a funny noise when trying to start up[:@],
do i have 2 put the spark leads back in the same position from where i had taken them out.....

Iv definitely put the right spark leads on the spark plugs because that bits obvious, but to the other sockets i dont have a clue
Any one who has the same model could you post a pic of your under bonnet so i could use dat as a guide

yes they need to be on in a proper order

1342 clockwise #1 should be the one closest to the block (engine)
and #1 cylinder is the pasenger side 1234
