Default 2010 Tiguan 2.0l Cam codes

Hello and thank you for reading, hopefully you are able to provide me with words of wisdom too. :-)

My daughters 2010 Tiguan just stopped Friday, lots of lights on the dash and we had her towed back to my house.
On investigation, we had:- P0343/P0101/P2293/P0342 ACTIVE codes
I tried the key to turn the engine over but just heard the starter 'buzzing' as if trying to start. Checked under the hood and noticed none of the pulley's where moving.
Put a socket on the crank pully and it was loose, yes the pulley and bolt. Looks as though it has been loose for a while as the back looked as though it had flattened where it locks into the crank.
I tightened the bolt back up to try and turn over the engine after taking out the spark plugs. It turned about a quarter turn then solid.

I now assume that ;- A) the timing chain broke and B) with the damage to the back of the crankshaft pulley i would need a complete new engine? Educated response welcomed.

Background history;- she bought the car 9 months ago form a guy who said the chain had broken and he had installed a new cylinder head and the new updated tensioner. He did the work himself......maybe a workmanship issue..
