I Have recently rescued a 99 passat 1.8T from going to the scrap yard. runs great at idle but bogs down with throttle. There is a CEL (steady) but I don't have the correct wheels to get it to a shop at the moment. I am still trying to find a set of those.

I tried turning the key on for about 5 min and the car acted great for about a minute then started bogging down.

I know it could be several things but I am thinking ECU reprogram or throttle body?
