erratic idle when brake held

erratic idle when brake held
Just recently i have had a weird idle almost like my car has the hic-ups whenever i have my car in drive with the brake held. If i put it into park it is fine. I can drive the car fine but when stopped at a light with the brake held in the idle drops for a split second every few seconds. My car is a 99 passat V6
