Default VORDERMANS MOTOR WERKS VW DEALER IN FORT WAYNE INDIANA RIPPED ME OFF

EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THIS Please dont buy here
This dealership scammed me. I purchased a 1988 VW GTi from them. "It is the owners sons car" they said. So I figured it would be a safe one to buy. After I purchased it I drove it twords home and realized the odometer dident work, the car has no catiletic convertor, no brake lights, hail damage, no interior, improper seating that was barley bolted in the car, and it broke down before I got home. The sensor on the distributer was held on by zip ties.... They refused to return the car and tried to avoid my calls. I am curently retaining a lawyer and protecting my rights, I plan to file several charges agaist this dealership. I want them to know they CAN NOT do this to people.

In most states you can contact the central office of the Department of Motor Vehicles to file a complaint. The DMV is usually the body that governs car dealership licences...
Also, don't forget to lodge a complaint with the better business bureau. You might consider making a call in to local talk radio.
Also, craigslist dot com is a good free place to post scam warnings...
You might even want to "sell" your warning on ebay...

We read with great interest about the purchase of an ’88 GTi through our dealership by Riceless. It might also be of interest to forum readers to read some of the details he left out. Those details were certainly enlightening to his State's Attorney General, whose office closed his complaint within 24 hours of receiving our response. Prior to his purchase, we exchanged emails, made phone calls and sent pictures. We told him that the car had been an autocrosser, that the original interior bad been removed, that it was owned jointly by the dealership owner and his son, and that any sale would be as-is. He arrived one night after we were closed, inspected the car on our lot and got a motel. The next day, he inspected the car again, drove it, and met with the dealer's son to discuss the car and its history. Virtually everything he is now complaining about was either disclosed to him or was obvious to him. The seller agreed to give him the original interior parts, including seats, and RiceIess agreed to buy the car as-is. He stayed overnight again while the car owner collected up all the interior parts to give him. The following day, he looked the car over again, paid for it and received an assigned title from the owners of the car. That title showed the owners of the car to be the dealer and his son, as represented to Riceless from the start. The distributor problem he claims was unknown to the seller, who has offered to replace it at no charge or reimburse him $100. Riceless has purchased a car used in autocross competition with modifications made for that purpose and he understood that. He inspected the car thoroughly, test drove it as long as he wanted, and had a conversation with the car's owner to find out anything else he wanted to know about it. In the end, he chose to buy it as-is, and now he doesn't want it. What we have here is a case of buyer's remorse in a well-informed buyer who does not want to accept his part of an as-is purchase. His depiction on this and other forums as the hapless victim of a scam artist is at least ludicrous. We will let forum readers reach their own conclusion, and let our attorney decide if his implications have reached the level of slander. Vorderman Volkswagen

OK, i understnad why Vorderman VW would be upset, but really? How did you come upon this post? are you seriously just searching the web for your dealer? Granted, i think its crap that riceless left out that info and is now just complaining cuz he dounds like he's not all there......That said, you as a business are being quite ridiculous to come onto a web site and claim possible slander and try and defend yourself. Everyone has a right to defend theirselves, but on a rarely used, random website? come on, are you guys that bored at work? I love my VW's and always will, but i hate VWOA and their service record. let face it, you guys done do too well....i bet you i know just as much if not more about your cars than half of your techs. Lets leave crap like this for person, instead of coming on here and being e-thugs, both of you

Hey, this dealership found out about this post because I have been researching a new Jetta. I found this forum, started reading and found the post from riceless. I have family in Fort Wayne and they all swear by the dealer. So I dropped the dealer the link. Yes, it sucks to have rants like this on a forum but all sides of the story MUST be told.

Please don't blame the dealer. Blame me.

i agree that all sides of a story have to be told...but who honestly listens to stuff like this? especially somewhere like here, itd be different if this were the vortex or something, were 99% of the vw commmunity posts...but this is different. I think it got to be a little childish....but thats just my opinion

I was searching for info on Vorderman Motor Werks because I am in the process of replacing my present vehicle.
I discovered this post by 'Riceless' after reading it I thought that maybe I should find another dealership to make my new car purchase at.
That is till I continued to read the postings and saw the posting by the dealership.
Well considereing what was said it made me feel like the opinion I made initially was a little hasty.
I am glad that someone from the dealership took the time to post on the dealerships behalf.
It is good to hear both sides of the story in dispute like this.
So JOENEWTON07 it appears to me as you are the one who is being rediculous.
You accused to dealership in your post of things that were evidentally not true and you had no solid evidence to support your accusations.
Maybe you are the one that is being childish.

Default Dealership ripped me off

I love it when everyone one the website excercises their right to state their opinion on whether others should have excercised their right to state their own opinion!! Then to top it all off, everyone on the site claims that no one ever uses the site. You know what they say about opinions.....everyone has one.
Freedom of speach! Never take it for granted!
I love being able to hear both sides of the story and I'm glad this dealership was able to find this forum and defent themselves. I live in Savannah Georgia, so I'll never patronize this dealership, but I'm glad they responded to this post.
The buyer sounds like a bozo to me. Most of the problems he has should have been quite obvious in a visual inspection and a test drive. Who would buy a car and later complain about hail damage, lack of interior and the problem with the seats? He knew what he was getting.
