My 2001 Jetta Wagon's back hatch is stuck closed. It is stuck completely closed, it does not move at all. I pull on the back handle and it makes a little buzzing noise like it wants to open, but it does not move at all.

My question is, is there any way pull the panel off the inside to check and see if it's something simple? Can I get it off without having the hatch open?

I'll shop it if I have to, but I would like to make sure I can't do it myself before I go down that road.
