Default Troubleshooting Jetta mk4 starting issues

Hi! Hoping very much someone will be able to give me some help. Last week, my Jetta was having problems starting. I notice that when the key was just in the 'on' position, nothing on my instrument panel would light up. Turning it off and back on, waiting until the lights came on, then attempting to start again worked. It got progressively worse until one morning when it wouldn't fire up. Again, nothing on the instrument panel is coming on except for the seatbelt light, which blinks and clicks. I have had issues with relays in the past, namely the LRR and am hoping it will be a simple fix like that. For a couple of weeks before this, it had been stalling for the first mile or two after initial start-up. The first time I looked online, I found the TDI forums by mistake and am now wondering what the gasoline engine equivalent of the infamous '109' relay is?

Thank you for your time and consideration! Any advice is greatly appreciated
