Default Jetta starts up then dies

i have a 2002 jetta. the starts up but then dies almost immediately. sometimes it takes 15 times to get to started and to keep it going. if you press the gas it just dies down. it never over heats while driving it it is just when the engine is cool. once you get it started it will keep starting like nothing is wrong until it cools down again. please help asap. need to know something by tomorrow am

If it starts for 1-2 seconds then stops thats normally the immobilizer working. The immobilizer light should be on in the dash thats the car with the key underneath.

What else have you been doing?
