Default engine oil and gas grade for jetta?

Hi guys, I just purchased a 99 jetta 2.0 GT with autoTrans, i am wondering what type of engine oil and gas grade I should use? Thanks!

i think with the 2.0 regular gas is fine, oil...well i cant remember what mine used to take! ah, wish i coud help that part out mang. no drivers manual in the glove box or trunk?

you can use any non leaded gas that is atleast 87oct and for oil 5W 30 or 5W40 (5W 30 is year round and the 40 is if you want something that is a little better in the warm weather, it is not necessary to use it though)

Thank you guys! How about thetransmission fluid? Previous owner told me it is a sealed transmission and no transmission flush is needed, was that true? mine is a GT model, i searched edmunds and kbb, did not findthis model, do you guy have any idea which model this is most closed to, GL GLS?
