When I turn on the blinker and it makes the clicking or ticking noise thats normal but now it just does it at random and its annoying as hell. Its a 03, the clicking is rapid and coming from where the emergency flasher button is. Anyone?

 

obviously something electrical..probably the hazard switch that relays the thing to work..sounds like its broken.does it only go on when the blinkers are on or constantly ?

 

It goes on constantly for a few minutes clicking very rapidly then goes off....then just to mess with me it will click once...then once again...then rapidly...then stop lol. I am trying to trouble shoot to see if this is a common problem but I am thinking its the Hazard switch also...AND...the radio took a dump...so I cant even turn it up to drown it out.

i took my VW to a dealer because i had received a letter saying there was a recall. When i got there they checked it out said that there were a couple other recalls one of which was the blinker switch so they fixed everything for free and now my blinker is completely different noise so they obviously changed the whole thing out. i'm fairly sure that this is your problem... call up the nearest VW dealer and they should look/fix it for free.

Yup I have the same noise on my 02'. Its a pain. Takin it to the dealer soon.

 

have you taken it to the dealer yet? did that fix the issue?
