I recently purchased a used 97 Jetta. The problem I have is that sometimes when you put it in Drive, or in Park, the engine dies. My mechanic that I have known for years suggested replacing the Idler Controller Motor. The problem is, that neither one of us can find one. Has anyone else heard of this problem/solution? I can't seem to find ANY info online about a Idler Controller Motor for that car. I have found a "Idle control valve" on more than one occasion though. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated.
