97 jetta gl 2.0 5spd clutch Problems
I need your 2 cents... Please
This is my kids car and they managed to blow out reverse, so I lucked out and picked a parts car up with a good 5 speed... after spending 1 day getting both cars apart I found it best to install a new clutch at the same time ( SACHS K70128 - 03 Kit by Auto Value parts ). After I got everything back together I have no problems switching through all gears while the engine is off. but once I start it, it feels and sounds like the clutch is not disengaging all the way. every time I go into reverse or first gear it is grinding and once it is in gear I do not here the clutch spinning ... what can I look for before I tear it down again... and call it a bad pressure plate? I did here the clutch cable ratcheting so I know that is not it.. ( it work fine before I did the swap..
This kit came with a through out baring as well but the old clutch did not have this..
