Default 94 Jetta won't start Need good help

wassup y'all, i got a 94 jetta that I need some real deep help with, y'all might be able to help might not I don't know but I need this car runnin & this the last thing I thought of to be able to try to fix it, so, here's the thing. the car's been sittin for about a year and a half now, it was sittin for about a year cause the clutch was gone and we ain't had money to take it to the shop, so a friend of mines that knew how to do it helped me change the clutch on it, so the car then had a clutch, but now for some reason, the car don't work, it does not want to crank up, won't ever turnover. we had a mechanic look at it (which he ain't too good with electrical stuff) and after he got done looking at it he said that we needed a new cpu, but since we already know he wasn't good with that didn't really trust his word, but he did tell us that there is no power going to anything, the motor, the starter, he said nothing was getting power, I checked it out today again and took some pictures so y'all could help me out further, there was power going to the starter on the positive/alternator part, not on the ground, and from the pictures let me know if the starter is even hooked up right. please go to this link below and let me know what u think.

you know you have to push the clutch in for the starter to work
check your ground wire it looks like you have it done up on the starter bolt is it tight

do you get dash lights? interior lights on? Follow your ground wire from the battery down to the starter, you may a rotted wire somewhere. Remember, the car sat for over a year..through what 2 winters? hot summer days? there's prolly some busted wires in there somewhere. Just follow that ground wire down from the battery and see if you see corroding or anything wrong with the wires.
