I bought a new jetta tdi yesterday and on the sticker and on our invoice ithas listed Bluetooth (TM) Connectivity w/Voice Recognition ($275). We were under the impression that this was bluetooth for our phones and was ready to go. Our saleswoman when asked said yes it is in there. When we got home and had already purchased it, we noticed that there is no bluetooth controls in the overhead console like it shows in the book. The only controls are the phone and star one on the steering wheel. will our bluetooth work or did i get totally screwed and paid 275 for nothing? What does Bluetooth (TM) Connectivity w/Voice Recognition and the fee mean if there is no controls in the overhead console? thanks

 

I also just brought home a 2009 Jetta TDI with Bluetooth. I notice that difference between manual and reality also. The Bluetooth is working for me though just fine with the steering wheel controls. I've even been able to program the phone book for voice control. However, I am having trouble getting the music from my phone to play over the Bluetooth connection. I have not figured that out yet. I have a Samsung Instinct phone.

 

Had the exact same issue, however ours was $400. Apparently without the button controls on the sterring wheel the VW bluetooth is nothing more than a speaker phone. The dealer did not know this until we confronted them. They refunded the $400, however we are not happy. One prerequisite for this car was full bluettoth capability. VW lied.
