2002 Jetta 2.0 Manual issue
Greetings,
My VW stopped working months ago and I am now curious to what I may need to do to fix it. It may be impossible for one to know what the issue is without seeing the car, but here goes nothing:
My car was running great, the only issue I had was when I sometimes attempted to put it in reverse, the clutch/gears would grind. I assume the flywheel kept spinning because at times I would be in first gear at a slow speed and it would basically have an idle speed of 5-10 mphs (it's a manual tranny). Well for a few days I was having difficulty shifting into any gear while driving and then one morning my car wouldn't start. When I attempted to suppress the clutch, I was met with a little bit of resistance and once I pressed it to the floor and turned the key, nothing happened at all. That's about all the information I have to offer. If anyone may have an idea of what the problem might be, I'd greatly appreciate the insight.
Thanks so much

Welcome to the forum.
Whats the mileage as it sounds like you may need a new clutch if it grinds when you try to select a gear. Thats providing the hydraulic side is working ok.
The flywheel is spinning all the time the engine is running. When you press clutch pedal that disengages the clutch centre plate from the pressure plate.
The reason why it won't start now could be a faulty Clutch Pedal Position Switch check it out.
