Default 1997 Jetta water problems

I have a 97 jetta 4 cylinder 2.0 manual trans. I was driving it in the rain today. Went through a really big puddle. It started misfiring hard so I limped it home. Turned it off let it sit for a while. Turned it over would not start. So I changed the cap and rotor and spark plug wires. Tried it again Still won't start. Has Anyone seen this kind of problem before. And Its Rainy and wet in CT. Not drying out weather.

Is your ignition coil... After a while, small cracks start to develop around the ignition coil. Water or humidity will cause it to malfunction.
Hope this helps. =)
