Oil Extractor Question

Oil Extractor Question
My question is has anyone used an oil extractor on their Passat tdi 2014 manual spd and if so did you have success? Can you offer any tips as I tried for about 3 hours today and managed to get 1 1/2 quarts out, then finally gave up when the outside temp dropped to 35.
I had the car engine warm as instructed. Loosened oil cap and oil filter housing. inserted extraction tube approx length of dip stick. Tried the two different size tubes. Checked system for leak and didn't have any. What I kept getting was mostly air and scant amounts of oil. After 3 hours I managed to extract 1 and 1/2 quarts. I even tried jacking back of car up thinking maybe oil would run towards front end more. Still nothing.
Now I am asking friends to find heated garage so I can jack the car up and do it the old fashion way but I don't get it as there are a number of utube of individuals doing this without any issues. Grrrrrr

These oil extractors aren't that good they don't extract everything.
I'm assuming your 2014 Passat TDI is the same as mine. The sump plug is on the rear of the engine so jacking it up will help the oil move to the rear of the sump.
As you say the oil should be at operating temperature as it drains quicker.
