Default How much boost is too much?

How much boost is too much on a 2002 GTI 1.8L Turbo.
I'm currently running 8lbs.
Can the car take more?

wouldnt risk it. would cause too many problems mechanicly and thru the computer. the computer can detect when you turn the boost up and will not like that and start to play up. and worst case sinario could stuff the turbo up.

you could always get a reflashed ecu and run plenty more boost, i got uni 1+ and spike over 20 psi, no problems that I have seen yet except for a few kicked ignition packs, due too not regapping plugs

Keep it at 8lbs and you will be driving the car much longer.
Turn it up, and sure it will run it. But it will severely reduce the life of the motor.
