My 2001 TDI Golf leapd ahead when accelerating, and then hesitates for a moment around 2400 RPM, and then peaps ahead once more to about 3000 RPM. It has almost no poop after 3400 or so RPM. The milage is only 23000 miles !! What might be the problem?

 

OOps, the milage is actually 33000 miles, but that's still no excuse for serious trouble. Since there have been no replies offering suggestions though, I guess I'll have to live with it, or let the dealer have at me with his inflated rate of serrvice.
