I have an 01 GTI 5speed manual and I'm having an occasional issue with acceleration. Through 1st and 2nd gear I'll have no issue but sometimes when going from 3rd to 4th to 5th I'll idle just below 4thousand rpm, I can feel it while driving when It'll happen, I stop accelerating and I'll just maintain speed, and that's only with gears 3rd through 5th, idk what part(s) I may need to check out and replace or fix. Any feedback is appreciated!!

Its hard to diagnose this type of problem on the web.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.
