Default 2000 VW golf dead battery

hey, i recently bought a 2000 Volkswagen golf, i put a new battery in it, and everything was fine for a while, now i come out every morning to find the car with a drained battery.
i have done some reading, and some say its the after market stereos, some say its the monsoon amp, and some say its the alarm, which is also acting up

first off, can you disconnect the stock alarm without losing power locks?
second, my stereo is wired correctly, i have double and triple checked
third, if it is the stereo/amp, how do i stop it from drawing power?
if it is the alarm how do i stop it from draining power?

just today, i started the car at about 10 am, left it unlocked? so the alarm shouldn't be doing much of anything. came back out at 2, and the battery was completely dead

if anyone can shed some light on this, even just point me in the direction of someone who can, i would much appreciate it.

Alex

well I think it was 'dub' that had told me that there is a distribution block under the driver dash. the wire becomes loose and you lose power. I had that same problem, I could charge battery full and the next day it was drained. I bought a new battery Saturday so we will see how long it lasts. Also it could be that your alternator is not charging the battery so that cold be bad.
