I have a '69 beetle, and I cant get the front window in.
My dad and I have put a rope on the inside seal, and vaseline on the window and the metal. It's really close, but we cant close the gap at the top.
Is there an easier way to do this?

 

vaseline? clean that crap off it not good for the seal and use dish soap instead. there needs to be some slippage to get it in and sometimes petroleum lubes dont slide that well along glass edges??. put seal in first then slip glas into seal work slowly around the perimeter. i used a hose pick to kind of pry the seal around as i went . my $0.02
