AC inop

I have a 1973 super beetle with factory air conditioning I'm looking for a schematic AC compressor not turning on not sure how controls are working

Google for an handbook.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS with 2x adaptor) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.
