98 beetle bad hesitation
I know this problem has been addressed already in this forum but still can't figure out what is wrong. My daughters beetle dies when the accelerator is pressed. If you depress it extremely slow it will not. I recently replaced the starter so i brought it to have the throttle recalibrated. The shop said it was fine that it was the coil pack, which I replaced along with the wires and plugs, this did not solve the problem.I brought it to another shop they checked the vacuum for leaks and said to try the fuel filter which I also replaced to no avail. Is there any thing else I can check, a sending unit or sensor that could be bad before I have to bring it to a dealer and hand over $90 an hr. Any ideas would be appreciated. By the way it is a 2.0 gas no turbo
Hi, did you figure out what it was? I have the exact same thing. I can barely press on the accelerator or it hesitates really badly.
Incidentally (unrelated) I also now can't get the car to start.
I cleaned the MAF sensor and put in a new fuel filter and new battery. (old ones were really old). No luck.
