Default 1973 beetle

Hi everyone. New here. I just bought a 73 sedan. It's not pretty but my wife and I are looking to fix it up real nice and I looked like a good starting point. But after I brought it home, I noticed that the pan right where the front suspension attaches is cracked a little and also underneath. I think it is making the front end shake. Also, the front body mounts where the body attaches to the suspension are cracked. I can weld those but will that strengthen the front end? Also, can the pan be repaired or is it a loss? The car runs great and I don't want to give it up yet, for various reasons. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Also any recomended restoration catalogs? Thank you.
