1999 Golf mk4 manual with 147k. I just did an oil and filter change, and also replaced the valve cover gasket as it was leaking bad. Drove the car for about fifty miles and it threw a P0411 code. I must have put a small crack in the pipe from the air pump. I found the crack and repaired it with 2part epoxy putty and reset the code. about fifty miles later the code is back. As a side not I also replaced the factory radio with a new VW radio. This was a plug and play, with no change of wiring. Any ideas would be appreciated!

 

check the small vacume line to the deverter valve (the valve that the hose from the air pump goes to) they crack at the valve

we could use new members at the Air2 water forum have a look it wont bite

You nailed it! The hose was broken right at the clamp and just hanging there by the thread/ cloth covering. Thanks!
