Default Cooiling Fans Won`t Go Off New Beetle

Help, The cooling fans won`t go off in my 1998 Beetle. I found the two senders in the rear of the engine mounted in the upper radiator hose and unplugged both but still runs until battery goes dead. I can pull fuse and they will quit of course. Its a 2.0 engine. It hasn`t been run hot. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Default RE: Cooiling Fans Won`t Go Off New Beetle

ive had similar problems before but in a saab. i unplugged the cable at the fan and cleaned it which worked for a while but eventually had to replace the plug because antifreeze was leaking onto it.
try cleaning that side if you already tried the backside, if not im not sure.
good luck
