Default lowering from standard to uprated

Hi all,

I have a golf GTTDI S plate (1998) currently on standard springs, however i would like to get it lowered so its just sat on the rims with maybe a mil or two between the rim and body.

Any suggestions on what springs to get and what would be the pracitcal lowest you can go.

Hs any one got the springs on here??

i thank you in advance.
