Default Polo 1.2 losing all power while driving, any help?

So I've had my 55 plate 1.2 petrol polo for a couple months now, everything was fine until one evening while driving, the car lost all power while driving steadily around 30 mph. Since then it keeps doing it nearly all the time and it Is now dangerous to drive, it has just been with a VW specialist who ran diagnostic and said the throttle body needed replacing and also a pipe had been taped from the throttle to the brakes I think he said when he showed me the part. After changing the throttle body, new spark plugs and ignition coils the problem still persists and now they are saying the 2 other things it can be is the throttle pedal module or to do with the ECU, but they ran diagnostics on the ECU already, can anyone help please with any previous similar problems. Thankyou
