Hey I have the same car. The speedometer is a cable driven speedometer so the cable could be broken. It runs right by the master cylendar in the engine compartment. As for the gas guage it is either a bad ground, bad sending unit in the tank, or the insturment cluster is broken. the temp guage is either a broken wire, or a broken or missing sensor. The sensor is right by the distrubuter on the right side. It is a single spade sensor. But since all of this is broken or not working on your car, I would be led to belive that the instrument cluster is broken. You can pick up the instrument cluster on ebay for maybe $40.00. Also, I suggest getting a Bentley Book for your car, not a Hanyes or Chiltions book. You can get it on Amazon.com for $40-50.00. I bought one for my car and it tells you absolutley everything you need to know for the car. It is the book that would be found in a garage or the dealer.

2008 Passat. GPS says the speedometer is off by 3-4 mph for example speedometer says 69 and GPS says 65. Doesn't this impact true mileage?
