It's not just my first Passat, but my first car. It's a 2008, 74,000 miles on it, very luxurious inside. The dealer I bought it from also sells Bentleys and Mercedes and the like (they even had a Delorean!). I asked what "edition" it was. Camrys have LE, XLE, SE, etc. He said it was a GLS. It has a 4-cyl. engine. But I want to know EXACTLY what it is. GLS Turbo? I don't know. "GLS" isn't written on the back of the car, so I was wondering where I can look to see what precise model it is. It does have a thick owner's manual, but it covers several models, it says, and doesn't specify which one this is.

Thanks, Keithuk. I found the Options tag thing but I can't really decipher it. It's just a bunch of numbers and letters. One line says PASSAT Lin. NAR 147KW, and A6F is directly underneath NAR. It also says BPY- JUD, with LC5F under BPY- and XG under JUD. What exactly am I looking for here?

 

As I've said if you read https://volkswagenforum.com/forum/ge...sticker-35079/ there is a site VW Group Option Codes Decoder where you type in all the 3 character codes of the Options Sticker into that site and it tells you all options that were added to that vehicle when it left the factory.

BCY 147Kw, 200PS is the engine code 05/08-11/10 Passat TFSI. The same engine is fitted to 7 other VAG models.

JUD is the transmission code 6A, 6 speed automatic.

LC5F is the paint code, Blue Graphite Pearl Clearcoat.


NAR is NORTH AMERICAN REGION.
