Coolant Issue That Is Not The Water Pump
Trying to resolve what this is. Any help is appreciated. Here are the facts.
2000 Passat GLS 2.8L Automatic
Bought the car w/ 117k on 2010.
The receipts state:
In 2004 @ 45K, coolant issue. Turns out coolant bottle was cracked and replaced.
In August 2006, unknown milage, coolant issue. Water pump, hoses, thermostat, belt replaced.
Several months later, April 2007, same thing. Pump replaced. This was at 75K.
These past two repairs were done at the same service station although the first receipt does not state the mileage.
No issues until January 2010, 112k. Coolant leak again. Tubes, hoses, engine mount and gasket replaced.
Now, at 121k, I start the car up. Coolant light on. Bottle is bone dry. No coolant in it. So the hoses are less than 10k old. On its third pump which is less then 50k old.... where should I look?
