Im looking into buying a 1999 Passat v6 for 8 to 9 hundred dollars. The car has 155,000 miles. After talking with his mechanic the issues with the car is that the headgasket needs too be replace and something to do with the valves also being needed to be replaced. He quoted me a price of 1100 dollars parts and labor.

1. Is buying this car and investing worth it
2. Should i just have the whole engine replaced or even rebuilt and how much would a job like this cost.
