Default 97 Passat GLX V6 Waqgon getting terrible MPG

Hey All.

Can any of you gearheads tell me why my 5-speed 97 Passat GLX Wagon V6 with about 100,000 miles on it is averaging about 15 miles per gallon? Gee-whiz, you'd think it was an SUV!

I keep the tires full, and just changed the oil... what else should I do? Think a new set of plugs and wires would help? Whaddaya say?
