2000 1.8Turbo hard to re-start after running
Hello All!
Around November of last year, my car almost caught on fire because of buildup in the exhaust pipe and I believe a failed catalytic converter. After the guy wanted to charge me $900 just for the new Cat conv, I opted to just remove the whole thing. I also told the guy to give me a tune up (spark plugs, coils, fuel filter) while I was there. After a couple of months of running, I began to have problems. The main problem I am having is that after the car warms up, if I stop the car and try to start it again, it turns over and does not start for a while. It could take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes for it to start. IT's like it has to cool down before I crank it back up. The car starts and runs fine like in the morning or when it is cool and not warmed up. Any suggestions on this? Thanks!
