First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

Default Welcome to Volkswagen Forum - Rules & Recommendations

That could be anything, how long is a piece of string?

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

Sorry for not reading rules & recommendations better. Be honest I don't know I be back on here, as for this Passat is up for sale and last car I want to work on.
So I was roaming forums and the net for others having this issue and reading any replies they might have got.
I do have another 08 Passat 2.0t thats not running at all, dk why. So, if I decide to try to get that one running I may use this forum more.
However the one in question was running up till it sat for several months with out use or being started. Just figured a new battery would solve it sense old battery was dead.
I have use of a scanner but doubt its the one you mentioned. I'll still scan it though.
Thanks for your reply.
