Hello, Im new to the VW world and Im thinking of buying a 05 jetta GLI. What can you guys tell me about this car. I want something I can enjoy and put a lot of miles on (100k+) Are their a lot of issues with these cars (common problems)? What is the factory warrenty on one? What should I look for whenI go look at the car? I want something that not going to be in the shop every other month. Anything you can tell me would be greatful. Thxs

 

hey there, dont know a whole lot about the GLIs but i havent had any problems with the 1.8T. My friend actually bought one last night though from Sewell lexus... hope it wasnt the one you were after. I think the car has a 5 year 50,000 mile factory warranty but i could be wrong.
I dont know much else but good luck and maybe some of the others can help.

ive never owned a gli but have had 3 different jettas...all which i loved...obviously! i think jettas are great long running cars...my last one had over 200,000 on it and i just sold it to a vw mechanic. i say go for it...enjoy the ride!
