volkswagens= audi, same relation as honda and acura. Audi's are just nicer and more luxurious, but they share parts, engines, chassis, and some body parts. If you read about problems in consumer reports, those are crap, trust me, if you just take care of the car like you should, it will take care of you back...i just talked to a guy the other day that had 250k+ on his car and it was running fine and loved it....cant beat that man

VW's have no more problems than the next car. They're solid and fun to dive. Comfortable and nimble. Just one thing I would recomend, get one with the VR6 or 1.8t. The 2.0 is a dog and will get you from 0 to 60 in I don't know how long 'cause I'm still trying to get there. But seriously, don't get a 2.0.

I have had nothing but constant problems with my manual VR6. I wouldn't recommend ANYONE buy this car!!! As soon as I fix somthing another thing breaks. This is my 4th VW and I've had the same fix something, something else breaks problem with all of them. My boyfriend has a 2002 Audi S4 and has had no major problems with it. Everyone I know has problems with their Jetta's. Some of the problems I've had: automatic window motors (on every window!!! Expect to replace this!), cv joint, axles, ball bearings, locking mechanism, the engine randomly cuts out, transmisson mount, etc! This is so expensive to fix. I would say get a more reliable car like a honda. The engine in this car runs like a champ, but the rest of the car sucks!!!
