Question Swapped 2.0 for 1.8L in my 86 Jetta but now having electrical problems

Ok...so I blew the 2.0 that was in the jetta and put it in the shop. They replaced the engine with a 1.8L. After I got it back the reverse lights were no longer working. Turned out that the fuse was blown. Today it died on me and I can't get it to start. I was told that it has something to do the the Differential Pressure regulator. It has me wondering now if the shop did something wrong when they swapped engines like maybe were they supposed to change the wiring too? Any advice would be appreciated.
