Default seized locked, and no FOB

My 00 Jetta's barrel lock is seized/damaged. Ive tryed everthing to fix it with no luck. I have no FOB key, so i cant lock my car. I'm thinking about getting an aftermark alarm/keyless entry sys. Is this an option? Are they hard to install?Willthisbemy cheapest option?

Thanks
Matthew

yeah, the drivers door lock is damaged. My options are to replace the lock and key, get a new OEM FOB, or get anaftermark one if that is possible? Prostart make one from canadian tire.

ProStart 4-button Remote
[*]Keep an extra remote in the house just in case you lock your keys in the car[*]Includes trunk release, door lock/unlock and panic button[*]Works up to an 800-foot (240 m) range

Would this work for a Jetta IV? Its only 30 bucks

If you search for Prostart 4 button remote they're are many resellers. Im pretty sure this product goes under a few different names aswell. Yup, "me" is a Canadian!
