Reinstalling stock stero. 97 Jetta GT
I had my aftermarket stereo stolen out of my 97 Jetta recently. I had the original stock stereo in the garage so I decided to just reinstall instead of getting a new stereo since I listen to satellite radio and basically just need a tuner.
After hooking up all the wire harnesses and putting it back in the dash, the only thing that happens is that the red security light blinks. The display doesn't light up, no hum, no hiss, no sound at all. I have the security code ready to input when I get something on the display. I didn't install the aftermarket stereo that got ripped off so I'm not sure if there were any tweaks to the wiring (doesn't appear to be, though). Fuse on the back of the deck looks fine.
Any thoughts as to what I should be looking for? Any help is much appreciated.
