Hi all, I'm brand new here, but not new to car forums.

I just purchased a 2000 Jetta GLX 2.0 5 speed with 115k miles. It has numerous issues, but I think some might be related. The power windows, mirrors, interior lights and remote are all non functioning. I checked the fuses and a 10a mini that controls the dome lights was blown. I replaced it and it blew immediately. I looked on the fuse panel, but a lot of the fuses have a symbol that appears to be telling me to look in the book. The book doesn't say anything except where to find the fuses.

Are the windows, mirrors and interior lights on the same circuit?

Is this a common problem.

Also, the remote doesn't work. I replaced the batteries and went through the reset routine in the manual, but still not working.

Not sure if the fuses are the same, but this fusebox diagram/list may help if they are.

you sure you're using the right amp fuse? If the fuse keep blowing then it's shorting out somewhere, gonna have to start digging into wires bud.

 

i went through this on a passat last week
had a bad light assembly in the back door it fell out and got smashed by the door and shorted out
i would check all interior lights unplug them one by one
dome lt. trunk lt. door lt. glove box
